Let's face it, summer is not complete until you've attended one or more of the county fairs around the Capital Region. The rides, the entertainment, fair food, and of course the timeless art of people-watching. Hopefully this summer will be a major step back to normal as planning for the annual county fairs are underway. Just about all of them were canceled in 2020, but returned in 2021, albeit with restrictions and limited run dates for some.

Here are the dates set for the fairs in and around the Capital Region for 2022 so far.

Many of the fairs have still to announce their entertainment acts as of yet, however you can certainly count on the usual demolition derbies, pig races, tractor pulls, chainsaw artists, animal exhibits, magicians, clowns, hypnotists and everything else each fair has to offer.

Here's to hoping Covid will be a distant memory by then and we can all enjoy some corn dogs, cotton candy, mullets, daisy dukes, and questionably safe rides.
