After Thanksgiving Day, Mother Nature will be officially moving on to winter.

It looks like you will be able to work off your Thanksgiving feast with a little snow shoveling this weekend! According to the Weather Channel, the Capital Region could get up to 11 inches of snow this Sunday into early Monday morning. The chance of snow is 80%, so I get the feeling forecasters are feeling pretty strongly about this one.

The good news is this storm will not affect travel for most of the weekend. Thanksgiving Day will be cloudy with mild temperatures, and Black Friday and Saturday should be fine for travel or just getting out and about for shopping or to get your Christmas tree.

The Weather Channel forecast says fun will start on Sunday when this storm gets going, with most of the snow falling Sunday night. This storm will probably also impact your Monday morning commute with a few more inches expected Monday.

So if you are planning on travelling Sunday, it may be wise to change your plans to avoid this storm as this looks like it will be our first significant snowfall of the season. And make sure you download the GNA App to stay in the know on weather related closings and cancellations.
