Every year Greek Fest at St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church in Albany is a must-attend event for me, and many of you as well.   Because of the pandemic, the event that normally attracts thousands of people has been postponed until next year.  But good news.  You can still Go Greek this weekend as they're offering a drive thru-feast this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Two of my my very best friends growing up were a couple of Greek brothers named Steve and Chris Dallas.   Awesome guys and I'm happy to say we're still very good friends to this day.  I remember as a kid going over to their house, hanging out with the brothers and secretly hoping that I'd be there long enough to get invited over to dinner.  Their mom, Katrina made the best Greek food.  I'd load up on Pita, Baklava, and anything else she made and the less I was able to pronounce it, the better it was.

Albany's annual Greek Fest is the closest thing I'l ever get a Saturday afternoon at the Dallas' house hoping for a dinner invite.   I literally crave the Gyros, Souvlaki, Spanakopita, and Greek salad with extra feta.

According to CBS 6 News, this would have been St. Sophia's 50th Greek Fest and while it won't be an event you can attend, it's certainly an event you'll want to drive-thru.

According to their website, the St. Sophia Greek Feast will be doing drive-thru orders available for pick up on Friday, July 10 from 4-8 pm, Saturday, July 11 from 12-8 pm, and Sunday, July 12 from 12-6 pm.
