"In for it" is a little bit daunting when it comes to describing winter weather, don't ya think?

But like any winter, "in for it" is scary for some and a beautiful description for others! Regardless, we are in the wheelhouse time of the year for winter weather predictions and the latest is calling for some big winter activity this year.

Accuweather Says Get Out Your Coats and Shovels

That's right. Unpack the hats and gloves, get those extra layers going, and tune up the snowblower. Accuweather forecasters are calling for a cold winter in the region naming the Northeast as an area that is "in for it" and we are "...likely to average 1 to 3 degrees Fahrenheit below normal." In fact, they are predicting we can see some cold spells and snow coming in November.

As we get deeper in the season, Accuweather says we can expect a "roller-coaster" of weather as things could let up a bit in December, but then the cold and snow will return "...with a vengeance in January...all across the Northeast, especially those who live along and west of the Appalachian Mountains."

Gee - west of and right along the Appalachian Mountains? That puts Albany, the Capital Region, and all of Upstate New York right in the path of weather with a "vengeance." Yikes!!

And guess what? It gets even better with one last element of the weather outlook - we can expect some Nor'easters toward the end of the season.

Like any forecast, we take this with a grain of salt. Whatever lies ahead with our winter weather, if we can predict one thing with certainty is that things will be interesting in greater Albany!
