Another Annual Upstate Festival Has Been Canceled For 2020
This was supposed to be their year for the Sixth Annual Saratoga Balloon and BBQ Festival. Three days of hot air balloons, entertainment, and of course lots of delicious BBQ.
Unfortunately, like most being events this year it was scheduled, rescheduled, and then eventually canceled. It's a trend that is all too common in this crazy year.
The Annual Saratoga Balloon and BBQ Festival were originally scheduled for June 19 through 21 at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds, but the dates were pushed back during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic in hopes that the virus would have died down by then and the festival would happen on its new dates, August 14th through the 16th. Since we're only a couple of days away from the beginning of August it became pretty apparent that the event needed to be canceled.
The announcement was posted on the Saratoga Balloon and BBQ Festival website,
We are sad to announce that we officially have to cancel the Saratoga Balloon & BBQ Festival on August 14 – 16, 2020 at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds, due to coronavirus.
This was a difficult decision to make but the safety of our customers, vendors, and staff is of the utmost importance.
If you purchased any event tickets or Hot Air Balloon Ride tickets, you will have the option of a refund or a credit for the 2021 event!
Speaking of the 2021 event...organizers are making plans for next year's event on June 25 through 27, 2021 at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds according to The Saratogian. They already have 30 hot air balloons that are scheduled for the 2021 event.
