There's a new, fresh restaurant that has opened in Glens Falls. The owners are no strangers to the farm-to-table concept. They decided to open Mint after successfully running another similar restaurant in Greenwich.

What was The Former Restaurant in Greenwich?

It was a family business and will continue at Mint in Glens Falls. Mom, Johanna von Geldern, and her daughters Katriel and Cagney Houlihan own the new restaurant. Johanna started Sweet Beet Bistro in Greenwich six years ago. It was very successful, the community loved it too. It was a farm-to-table concept as well.

They will continue to source food from local businesses and use products that are fresh in that particular season. Also, they are working with fifty local businesses and farms. They want to connect with the local community and offer high quality.

Is Mint Similar to The Sweet Beet?

According to the family, the food will be similar and so is their philosophy of "good food, and good drinks mean life is good". But they also said,

We were thinking there would probably be a different vibe. It has this whole different energy to it. Sweet Beet was one energy, and this is another one.

Now that there is a bar inside Mint they are excited to create different mixed drinks and specialty cocktails. Mint will offer handcrafted homemade elixirs with fresh ingredients based on the season and infused liquors.

Mint is located at 80 Warren Street in Glens Falls. The family found the building and decided to make it into exactly what they wanted. The family was looking to find a building with more space and a bar area and that's exactly what they did according to News 10 ABC. They are very happy with the final result. It includes a large U-shaped bar with a centerpiece antique mirror, there is art displayed on the walls from a local artist, and the tables are antiques from the 1920s that were once used inside the capitol building in Albany.
