There is now a timeline of when these will re-open. Many residents in Albany and around the Capital Region rely on public pools and splash pads to keep cool during the hot summer months. The coronavirus pandemic has halted openings of these much-needed places. Now Mayor Kathy Sheehan has a timeline of when they will open up.

According to Spectrum News, the Albany Department of Recreation is making preparations now to be able to re-open the cities' pools. The pools and splash pads are an important part of the residents staying cool during the hot summer months. Albany Mayor Sheehan says that Lincoln Park, Arbor Hill, and Mater Christi pools and splash pads will re-open by July 3rd.

There are major preparations underway before the July 3rd opening. The Albany Department of Recreation has to make sure that all social distancing guidelines can be followed to keep everyone safe.

The Capital Hills Golf Course will also allow golfers to use their course starting today, Tuesday, June 16th. There are a few guidelines that golfers will have to follow as it pertains to social distancing. There will not be any carts available. Greens fees have been raised by ten dollars.
