Indoor Dining To Resume In Vermont Monday

Vermont is taking another step forward in reopening Monday.

According to MYNBC 5, Governor Phil Scott has announced restaurants can open indoor dining with some restrictions which include:

Diners capped at 25% of legal capacity
6 feet social distancing between groups
No bar seating

MYNBC 5 reported the Governor understands this is still not ideal for restaurants to reach solid levels of business but said "we've got to start somewhere."

At the rate we are going here in the Capital Region, we cannot be too far behind with restaurants being allowed to let diners back indoors. The state moving up the timeline for outdoor dining this week was a great sign, and with phase 3 less than 2 weeks away, we are hopefully right on track to really get our service industries closer to full strength.

I think Capital Region residents are very ready to get out and help make this happen. In my hometown of Clifton Park, it was very encouraging to see outdoor dining areas buzzing when they reopened Thursday. Folks are ready to get out for some fun and recreation or just anything at this point! Hopefully that leads to a nice surge in business as we reopen more in the coming weeks.
