The New York State Police were looking for Tatiana David who had been abducted from Tomkins County, on West Hill Circle in Ithaca yesterday (Wednesday, April 5th) morning. It was Tatiana's 34th birthday. Police thought she had been taken by her ex-boyfriend, Michael Davis, and heading to New York City.

When Did They Spot The Jeep Cherokee?

Last night around 9:40 pm, according to WUSA9, Virginia State Police spotted a Jeep Cherokee with an invalid license plate. When the trooper ran the plate they knew that it was wanted in New York for the alleged kidnapping of Tatiana Davis earlier that day.

While heading south on I-95 in Virginia, the trooper pulled over the vehicle for a traffic stop. The trooper identified the driver as the wanted suspect and as they approached the vehicle, Michael David sped off and crashed after about 20 miles into a guardrail but kept on driving before crashing into the woods.

What Happened When the Troopers Got to The Crashed Vehicle?

As they approached the Jeep Cherokee, the driver started shooting at them. the troopers returned fire. Unfortunately, the passenger, who was later identified as Tatiana Davis of Ithaca, NY was pronounced dead at the scene. Michael David received life-threatening injuries and was flown to a nearby hospital.

It is unclear if Tatiana was shot in the crossfire or shot by Michael David. Virginia State Police are still working with authorities in New York regarding charges.
