Based upon my travels, I haven't had tremendous success finding consistently great, fresh seafood in the Capital Region.  On a few different occasions, however,  I went to Hooked Seafood Co. to grab as many raw steamers or oysters as I could get my hands on, and I was never disappointed.  I thought the space they had inside the Galleria 7 Market was a cool little spot for them.  It appears that after 5 years inside the location where they started, the owners of Hooked will be released back into the water and out on their own.  Luckily for us they're not going very far.

According to  a report from the Times Union, the owners of Hooked Seafood Co. have purchased a building and will make that their stand-alone location.  The space they bought was the old Ario's Pizza that sits pretty much across the street from where Hooked is located now.

On Friday, they posted this to their Facebook page:

"We look forward to growing and evolving in this new space. We’ll still be seafood centric but are pumped about the additions to come, keep your eyes out for these gems!
Now the real work begins, four months of construction and we’re aiming to open our doors later this summer. Stay tuned for amazing build out posts and sneak peaks of tasty new menu options. We COULD NOT be more excited!!!"
According to the Times Union, Hooked will remain open inside their current location until they are ready to open at the new spot in the Summer.
Can't wait to check it out!
