There is the breakfast beer, the shower beer, the after-work beer....wouldn't it be nice to have a movie beer? Of course you can have one in your own home, but not at most New York movie theaters. Currently there are a couple movie theaters that can serve alcohol, but that's not widespread. Lawmakers are pushing to change that.

There are some movie theaters in the state that sell alcohol, but to do that, they have to be classified as a restaurant. Of course we're not talking about doing shots while watching "Frozen 2." You'll only be able to buy alcohol at PG-13 and R-rated movies.

This bill has been proposed before, but has only passed in the Senate and keeps getting held up in the Assembly.

The measure will be considered when state lawmakers return to Albany in January.
