The attempt to "flatten the curve" of COVID-19 has and will have a negative effect on the restaurant industry. As of 8 pm Monday all restaurants, bars, gyms and movie theaters have to close their doors until further notice. In an attempt to help keep restaurants afloat Governor Cuomo will allow carryout beer, wine and liquor.

According to FOX 5:

Cuomo called it a "silver lining" for the industry. "We hope that goes a long way in alleviating any economic hardship," Cuomo said.

Full rules are expected shortly from the NYS Liquor Authority.
