This is no secret. The New York Giants need some offensive production. In week 8, prior to the bye, the Seattle Seahawks held quarterback Daniel Jones to 176 passing yards. That's not an alarmingly low number. However, when the total number of offensive yards totals 225 for the game, then the Giants have an issue they need to address.

Let's look at Big Blue's wide receivers. Through 9 weeks of the NFL season, including last week's bye, Darius Slayton leads the Giants with 232 yards. For perspective, Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins leads the NFL in receiving yards with 1104. The average leader of receiving yards on most NFL teams heading into week 10 is about 600 yards. Brian Daboll needs more production out of his receivers. In comes the $18 million wide receiver, signed by former general manager Dave Gettleman, that is allergic to catching passes or running into the end zone during actual plays.

Kenny Golladay, who has not scored a touchdown in 2 years, will be on the active roster when the Giants take on the Houston Texans on Sunday at Met Life Stadium. Golladay told nydailynews.com reporter, Pat Leonard, “I’m ready for whatever. It really don’t matter.” This is where the offensive dud loses me every time. It does matter Kenny! Only to you, it doesn't matter.

Golladay continued with his missing-the-point diatribe, “I’m really not trying to prove nothing to no coaches,” the wide receiver told Leonard. "Really I’m out here playing for my guys, these people in the locker room. Of course I got to show on the practice field to the coaches, but at the exact same time, I’m playing for the guys in this locker room, period.” Period. Not the fans? Not the Mara and Tisch families that pay you? Are you really playing for your guys Kenny? Because, with friends and teammates like you, who needs enemies and opponents? If the Giants offensive success is predicated on a solid performance by #19, then Big Blue fans may be in for a long day. If Golladay wants to play for the guys in the locker room, then find the end zone with the ball securely in your hands during a play. That will be a good start. Period.
