The RPI Men's Hockey team is ready to go for the season and they will be playing almost every weekend until March. The only weekend the Engineers will have off is Christmas and coach Dave Smith says the team is ready for the challenge. They sure are jumping into it. Hear coach Smith talk about "go-time" above and check out some highlights below!

  • On the scrimmage against Union: "It is important to note that the rivalry with Union is real and at the end of the day it is an exhibition game that our primary is to get everybody in the game. We did and we came out injury free,"
  • On matchup with Bowling Green: "Bowling Green has been very good. They have been receiving votes in the top 20...there's been so many changes and not enough video but I know their coach and their style and they are really a good opponent to game in here. We will have to be on our game early."

It was a breakthrough season for Columbia Grad Kevin Smith with the Toronto Blue Jays Organization. Tuesday he was named the best shortstop in Triple-A when the post season awards were handed out, and that announcement came on the heels of KJ being named team MVP of the Buffalo Bisons where he led his team with 21 home runs and 69 rbi’s. His whirlwind season included making his MLB debut with the Blue Jays in August, and recording his first big league hit and home run. The future is bright for Kevin in the Major League’s, but it remains to be seen if it’s with the Blue Jays.
