Now Open – New York’s Little Island
CBS New York reports that New York's newest attraction is now open! "Little Island" is a public park located in the Chelsea section of Manhattan at 13th street and Hudson River Park. Decorated with 114 trees, 500 shrubs and 27K perennials but the most bold visual are the manmade "tulips".
There are 132 "tulips" keeping this park afloat, with no 2 tulips alike. These structures were manufactured in Upstate New York and then floated on a barge down the Hudson river to the current site. Unlike most parks, this one also features an amphitheater that can accommodate approximately 1,000 guests.
Admission is free but timed reservations are required from 12 noon - 8p.
