Winter so far in Upstate New York has been surprisingly mild, which is perfectly fine for people who don't love the cold.

But even those who typically need 12 extra layers of protection when the temp gets anywhere near freezing, were still excited to make the trip up to the Lake George region to experience the surprise magical hit of the winter, the Ice Castles.

Warmer weather made it tricky for people to plan their weekend around seeing the whimsical ice structures, but despite wonky weather, they were a smash hit as they wrapped up season number two last weekend in Lake George.

So what's next in Lake George, now that the ice castles are a wrap?  Perhaps it's a May event called Tails and Ales.

In a Facebook post, it was announced that on the weekend of May 21st and 22nd, Lake George will host their second event that features puppers, pints, vendors, food, talent shows, and much more!
