Some random signs have popped in Halfmoon up announcing Chick-Fil-A's arrival.

The Albany area has seen and heard this before. Rumors of a Chick-Fil-A opening in the region (Outside of the airport location) have been flying around for years now. It seems on social media and in some area groups on Facebook like Clifton Park Neighbors and What's Going On Saratoga?, the rumors and commentary have been bubbling up even more recently. But at this point, it seems to be more fiction than fact with many joking around about the fast-food chain's arrival. Now, we have the sign in the photo above to throw into the rumor mill.

I hate to crush the dreams of Chick-Fil-A fans, but let's start by addressing this with three words: I say  Don't believe it. We've been through this drill so many times, so only when Chick-Fil-A makes an official announcement should fans expect the restaurant to open a location outside of the airport. The photo above was taken at Lawrence Circle in Halfmoon right across from Lowe's on Route 146. This was a speculated location for Chick-Fil-A few years ago, and a random website listing showing the location has fueled this rumor on social media of late. This website has actually been floating around for a couple of years now, and guess what? It has nothing to do with the official Chick-Fil-A website and alas, no Chick-Fil-A has ever arrvived.

As far as the signs themselves, this wouldn't be the first time we have seen a prank like this. Back in 2018 a random "Chick-Fil-A landing soon' sign showed up in a totally random location on Route 40 in Speigletown near Troy. The story quickly went viral as locals thought Chick-Fil-A was finally arriving, but it just turned out to be someone leaving the sign on their property for fun. Based on all the social media jokes and false rumors in regards to this location, don't be surprised when this situation has the same result. Plus, wouldn't Chick-Fil-A use Halfmoon in the hashtag here since that is where the location is?!

I actually sent an email to Chick-Fil-A to get an official yay or nay on the signs or a location coming to the area, but at press-time, there is nothing new to report. Will these signs turn out to be legitimate? My gut says we already know the answer.
