You may think that it will cost you to recycle your old electronics, but for most manufacturers, they will take them back for free. Here's how. If you were one of the millions of Americans who got new electronics this holiday season, you might be wondering what you can do with the old ones. There's good news. Many of the manufacturers will take your old televisions, computers, gaming systems, and more back for free.

According to News 10 ABC, companies like Nintendo, Samsung, LG, Dell computers and Acer computers have a take-back program with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Samsung makes it easy with its Mailback Program where you can return electronics up to fifty pounds directly through the mail.

The DEC website has eighty-nine manufacturers listed that have a take-back program. There is also a list of website links and phone numbers to get more information on what each company takes back.
