A legendary Saratoga Springs venue has plans to bring back small audiences for live performances.

It is not exactly 20,000 people at SPAC yet, but it's a start. According to a Saratoga Living story, Caffe Lena is going to start bringing in some small audiences for the live streaming performances they have been producing during the pandemic. The venue is allowed to have up to 25 percent of their capacity (25 people) for their scheduled performances.

There is one caveat though: ticketed events still are not allowed in New York under the current pandemic restrictions. So how will you gain access to one of these music events? Saratoga Living says Caffe Lena has not worked out yet how show guests will be selected, but they will start with family and friends of the artists performing and supporters of the venue to fill the audience, and will hopefully branch out from there to include some different folks.

I think as we move forward through the pandemic, we will see more intimate shows like this where venues get creative to make live music happen with people watching. Fans are starving for live music right now, and venues are eager to get back to business. We may not know how these shows will look and feel in the near future, but where there is a will there is a way. Ultimately to get back to shows at SPAC, we need to start small to get the ball rolling. Even though these are small, exclusive shows at Caffe Lena, they are a step in the right direction.
