Saratoga Outdoor Dining Puts Up Barriers to Expand [PIC]

The restaurant industry has been hit hard during the pandemic and now that the weather is getting nicer, more restaurants will be able to accommodate a larger number of diners outside. Saratoga restaurants got a donation in the form of concrete to help them expand the number of tables they can have.

It sounds odd that concrete barriers would help restaurants in Saratoga expand their outdoor dining areas but that's exactly what is happening. According to News 10 ABC, D.A. Collins and Peter Gailor Landscape have donated eighty concrete barriers. Many Saratoga restaurants in Saratoga Springs are already put down in the streets to add extra room to expand the area of outdoor dining. The concrete barriers are on Henry Street and a few others.

Even though capacity indoors is now at seventy-five percent, many Saratoga Springs restaurant owners were still struggling to make ends meet. They are hopeful the outdoor expansion will add more diners and a significant increase in revenue.

Hopefully, with the nicer weather and the summer season around the corner, the tourist season will be in full swing soon. The expansion of outdoor dining will not only make it more lucrative for the restaurants but also give diners a better experience on the streets of Saratoga Springs.

Officials say that being able to have extra space outdoors last summer was what made the difference for some restaurants being able to stay in business. This new configuration will only help more. It will also increase the sales tax revenue that was down in Saratoga Springs fifteen percent last year.
