I love Texas Hold 'Em and was really into watching it on TV and playing in local tournaments. I even played in a local satellite tournament years ago for the World Series of Poker. How did I do? Well, let's just say it's a whole lot easier to be brilliant when you're watching poker on TV and you can see your opponent's cards. I was bounced after just a few hours.

For the first time ever the World Series of Poker is having qualifying tournaments right here in New York. They are already happening at Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, New York. The first satellite tournament was on November 1st.

The highlight will be a WSOP “Circuit Event,” to be held March 17 to 28. Players in that tournament, to be held in Turning Stone’s Event Center, can qualify for the final round, the World Series of Poker’s 2022 “Tournament of Champions” in Las Vegas.  ~NYUP.com

The first round of the WSOP events at Turning Stone started Monday, Nov. 1, the satellite events are held every Sunday through Wednesday until Wednesday, Dec. 15.

Then poker players will move on to the WSOP Local Main Events at Turning Stone, which will be held on Sunday, Jan. 2; Sunday, March 6; and Sunday, May 1.

Then, Turning Stone Resort and Casino will host an official WSOP Circuit Event March 17 – 28, 2022, with local poker players winning direct entry into the WSOP “Tournament of Champions” in Las Vegas in 2022.

If you're into poker this is really exciting and with a $175 buy-in, it's within the reach of most casual players. We'll have to wait and see if we will be cheering on Troy's Shawn Deeb in one of the New York tournaments.
