Capital Region City Ranked One of U.S. Best for Homes Under $225K

Whether you have been trying to buy a home or sell a home during the pandemic, you know the market has been crazy! Sellers have told stories of bidding wars for their homes and cash offers way above asking price. Can you even find a nice home for under $225,000 any more? The answer to the last question is yes!

According to MarketWatch the cities listed below are some of the top locations in the country where you can still buy a home for less than $225,000! One of them is here in New York State.

In my neighborhood in Niskayuna, NY I have seen at least half of the homes in my immediate neighborhood hit the market during the pandemic. Every one of them sold very quickly, some over asking price and one for as much as $1 million.

One reason for the housing market explosion is that the interest rate was lowered at the beginning of the pandemic to help stimulate the economy. Add supply and demand to the equation and prices took off but where can you buy a home today for less than $225,000? Let's take a look.
