I think every kid has a dream of playing professional baseball. Now is your chance to make your field of dreams come true. The Tri-City ValleyCats want players from the Capital Region to try out for the team. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to grab your glove and bring your skills to The Joe.
My dad played minor league baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies in the 60s and he would always talk about what an amazing experience it was. He would tell me about traveling, living with his teammates, and playing baseball. He said it was his dream as a kid and he was lucky enough to have lived it.
Now is your chance to show off your skills at an open try out for the Tri-City ValleyCats at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on Friday, May 7th according to News 10 ABC. The open try-out could land you into spring training where you would join the team. The Tri-City ValleyCats hope to have thirty players at spring training and then the final team will be narrowed down to twenty-four. Spring training starts on May 13th, the season begins on May 27th, and the home opener is on June 4th.
If you are interested in trying out for the team, you have to fill out a registration form in advance and pay a fifty-dollar registration fee. Make sure you bring your glove, bat, and whatever else you need to play ball. The try-out starts at 9 am and will last for about two hours.
Who knows? Maybe your field of dreams will come true too.
