I thought Dwayne Killings did a great job in his inaugural season as the UAlbany Men's basketball head coach.  While they unfortunately lost to Hartford in the quarterfinals on Sunday, they still fought hard and I believe they exceeded their preseason expectations.  I have much higher expectations going into next season, as do many other people around the Capital Region.  Here is my quick take on this from the Times Union:

Dwayne Killings was hoping for better results, but DK did a good job in his first year as the new head coach of the University at Albany men’s basketball team. He didn’t even get the job until March, then had to scramble to put together a team, convince players not to leave the program, and yet UAlbany still ended up being highly competitive in the America East Conference. You can’t judge Killings until he brings in his first recruiting class which is next season. His team was well prepared in every game this season and played hard start to finish. More wins will come, starting next season.

MJ and I had a conversation about the Hartford game and the season as a whole on Monday.  We will also wrap up our weekly segment with Coach Killings on Thursday at 10:30 and 12:30.  Below is our full discussion on this.

I also really love how Coach Dwayne Killings interacted and impacted the UAlbany community in a positive way.  He and his family were very friendly with students and DK was active with the university and campus always being very positive toward students and faculty.  I think he represents the community and UAlbany in an awesome way and I am looking forward to what he will do next season with the UAlbany men's basketball team.
