The Buffalo was a city, remember I said "was", with a bit of an inferiority complex and it was understandable. Their beloved Bills suffered 4 consecutive Super Bowl losses from 1991-1994. Their NHL franchise is terrible. The Pegula family, who own the Sabres hockey team and the Bills, are in a battle with the State of New York and the City of Buffalo over who pays for their new stadium. Sounds bad? Don't worry Buffalo fans are OK. They have #17, Josh Allen.

Today on The Drive with Charlie & Dan, we had Bills sideline reporter and insider from WGR Sports Radio 550 in Buffalo, Sal Cappaccio. If anyone has the pulse of this fanbase, it's Sal. He said today that the Bills Mafia is pumped up for Sunday's 1pm kickoff against AFC rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers. The last time that Buffalo had a full capacity game at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, NY was December 29, 2019 when they lost to the Adam Gase led New York Jets. Talk about leaving a bad taste! Bills fans will be diving to welcome their team to a full stadium on Sunday.

Buffalo Bills fans have a lot to look forward to in 2021 and it all starts this Sunday. Their hopes of a return to the Super Bowl and a coinciding victory, have been hoist upon the broad shoulders of their young quarterback entering his fourth season. Josh Allen had a mega season last year. Many are picking him to be the NFL's MVP this year. Those are some serious expectations.

Bills' General Manager, Brandon Beane and Head Coach, Sean McDermott have stacked the weapons around Allen. This year they added veteran wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to the already dangerous receiving corp of Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley and Devin Singletary out of the backfield. So, no one can argue that the pieces are there.

However, no pressure from media predictions can surpass the hopes and expectations of the people of Buffalo. I talked Bills all time great Andre Reed last year about the people of Buffalo. Reed said that the Bills fans were like no other in the NFL. He truly felt that the team is part of the fabric of the community and that the community was part of the fabric of the Bills. The people of Buffalo want to win a Super Bowl. They came as close as any city. Now they have #17 poised to deliver.
