Classic Lake George Halloween Scare Is Coming To Field Of Horrors

Fond childhood memories of getting scared at the Lake George haunted attraction, Dr. Morbid's Haunted House is coming to Troy at Field of Horror's.

My family and I were up in Lake George a few weeks ago and wanted to go to this iconic and a little cheezy attraction, but it was closed. We still went to the Frankenstein Wax Museum in all it's retro glory. What we didn't know was that Dr. Morbid's Haunted House was moving south.

The attraction that scared so many kids for years and years in Lake George will be resurrected at Field of Horrors. Will it be the same? Probably with a few updates, but the same theme as the original. As the story goes, Dr. Willy S. Morbid, the proprietor of Morbid Mansion, and known to locals as the Mad Waxmaker, is said to have used bizarre methods when filling his wax-works with statues.

Dr. Morbid's Haunted House relied heavily on animatronics and Macomb scenes for its scares. I would expect the new version of the old haunt to have some of the save, but updated. Of course, the original did have a guide that brought you through the house and provided scares too. So expect some live actors giving you jumps too.

Field of Horrors did announce that they were canceling the haunted hayrack rides due to health safety reasons, but now that Governor Cuomo has given guidance on reopening hayrides this fall maybe they will reconsider.

On the Field Of Horrors website, the sneak peek weekend is less than a month away, September 25th and 26th.
