"The truth is out there, but so are lies."

If you read that line, and you got the chills, then this next story is for you. The Capital Region recently welcomed a new science fiction-themed museum in recent months, and to help punctuate its opening, a new fan fest event will take place this fall.

X-Files Fan Fest Hits Saratoga Springs, New York This Fall

As reported by ABC News 10 in Albany on Monday, The X-Files Preservation Collection Museum is set to host its first-ever X-Files Fan Fest this fall.

The museum website lists that the event will take place on Friday, October 7th and Saturday, October 8th. The organizers have arranged a free screening of classic X-Files episodes in the lobby of Saratoga Best Western. In addition, a limited amount of fans are able to buy tickets for an exclusive evening with actor, Nicholas Lea.

The second day of the festival will run from 11AM to 5PM, and will have more of a Comic Con-type feel. Attendees will be able to interact with fellow fans of the show, as well as celebrity guest. The museum will have special presentations, games, giveaways and more as part of the second day's schedule.

If you choose to purchase a VIP ticket, your weekend won't come to an end at 5PM. Rather, you'll be headed to the VIP After-Party, happening from 6-10PM. Costume contests, trivia contests and a celebrity guest Q&A session will be accompanied by snacks, and a cash bar.

It's an extremely exciting event to have in the Capital Region, one that we hope gets bigger and bigger in the years to come.

If you're too eager to wait until October to see The X-Files Preservation Collection, tickets on normal days of operation are $18 for adults, and children 12 years of age and younger get in free. The museum is open 11:00am-7:00pm, seven days a week.
