The Albany FireWolves are certainly coming off of a weekend to remember.
On Saturday, the Capital Region's National Lacrosse League representative defeated in-state rival Buffalo by a score of 17-13. FireWolves' rookie sensation Alex Simmons shined in his home debut, scoring five goals, including two-in-a-row in the final 3:06 of regulation, to salt away Albany's first victory at MVP Arena since April of 2022.
Then, one night later, comedian Bert Kreischer took the stage at MVP Arena, and once again, the FireWolves found themselves at the center of the Capital Region's attention.

On Sunday, December 10th, Bert Kreischer took the stage at MVP Arena for his final show of 2023. He'd been touring the country for months as part of his Tops Off World Tour, and made the stop in Albany to perform his final show before the holidays.
As Creedence Clearwater Revival's Fortunate Son blared through the speakers at MVP Arena, Kreischer walked onto the stage, and here is how that looked:
That right there is an Albany FireWolves' road jersey, a design which the team has worn since their inaugural season in 2021-22. I'm a huge fan of doing this, as it's a nod to the venue you're performing in, but also, it's a nod to the community that's coming to see your show.

It was a busy evening in the Capital Region for Bert Kreischer and his crew. The group visited Cafe Capriccio before the show, and were treated to an incredible six-course meal while at the restaurant.
It's been a busy year for Bert Kreischer in general. On top of his Tops Off World Tour, the comedian also released a new Netflix special, Razzle Dazzle, and starred in the movie The Machine, which was based on a famous story from his comedy act.
For all intents and purposes, that busy year, and the FireWolves' busy weekend, both ended at MVP Arena on Sunday night.
