Country Music Superstar Shows Off Fresh New Upstate NY Lacrosse Jersey

No two ways about it: the Albany FireWolves are the best lacrosse team in the world right now.

The FireWolves, in their third season in the Capital Region, are a perfect 5-0 to begin the season. They've already won two more games this season than they did all of last year, both overall, and at home at MVP Arena. They boast the league's leading point scorer in Alex Simmons, and the league's leader in minutes played and wins as a goaltender in Doug Jameison.

Earlier this season, we found out that comedian Bert Kreischer was a fan of the 'Wolves and their jerseys. More recently, the FireWolves revealed on Instagram that another star was added to the list.

Country Music Superstar Thomas Rhett is Presented a FireWolves' Jersey

Nope, you read that correctly: Thomas Rhett, one of the most popular country music singers in the world right now, was presented an Albany FireWolves' jersey to commemorate the team's Country Night event, which took place on Saturday, January 6th.

It's always pretty cool to see someone famous, regardless of their profession, representing an Albany/Capital Region sports team in some capacity. As mentioned above, Bert Kreischer came out on-stage wearing his jersey, much to the delight of the crowd at MVP Arena.

Remember that?

Thomas Rhett has a smattering of tour dates listed on his website, but one would imagine that an East Coast run is yet to be announced. If he does, and he adds MVP Arena or SPAC to his schedule, we'll have to see if he sports his FireWolves' jersey when he and his band take the stage.
