Do you recall anything special about the date 8/1/81? This date is significant to music history as that is when Music Television was launched. The 24 hour music video network known as Mtv debuted with "Video Killed the Radio Star" by the Buggles and there was no turning back.

Mtv exposed Americans to artists and songs that we might not have heard on commercial radio stations at the time. Artists such as Adam Ant, the Eurythmics and Thomas Dolby benefitted greatly from Mtv airplay. Now, all these years later, 2 bands from the Mtv era are making their way to Albany.

In the 1980's, for Squeeze, it was the videos for the songs "Black Coffee In Bed" and "Tempted" that seemed to get the most play on Mtv. For Psychedelic Furs "Pretty In Pink" and "Love My Way" resonated most with fans. Now you have the chance to hear these songs performed live in Albany.
