Tons of Fun! Gigantic Gourds at Saratoga Giant Pumpkinfest This Weekend!

Get ready for one of the most spectacular displays of the season. The Saratoga Giant Pumpkinfest is happening this weekend with a ton of gourds from all over the Northeast.

What is the Saratoga Giant Pumpkinfest?

This free event is in its eighth year and is fun for the whole family. Everyone is able to take pictures with and view these enormous gourds. There is food, activities, and the amazing giant pumpkins.

Farmers from New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and Pennsylvania show off their humongous pumpkins to be judged in various categories. The main event is watching them get weighed. There is over eight thousand dollars in prize money to win at this event.

The average pumpkin at this event weighs anywhere from 1500 to 2000 pounds!

The Saratoga Giant Pumpkinfest happens this Saturday, September 23rd at the Saratoga City Center parking garage. You can check out the gigantic pumpkins from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. It takes time to weigh the pumpkins. Weighing begins at 11 a.m. and takes a few hours to get them all weighed.

The festivities are just a short walk from the Saratoga Farmer's Market on High Rock Avenue where you can enjoy specialty foods and drinks from local businesses throughout the day.
