New Indoor Golf Simulators Slice Into Clifton Park and Malta

Do you know what makes me happy? I am happy when I see a local business survive and thrive through the pandemic! It's also cool when we can go to that business and hit stuff! The Bunker, an indoor golf simulator business in Guilderland, is expanding this summer to Clifton Park and Malta.

Each new location will be in the main commercial areas of Clifton Park and Malta near Northway Exits 9 and 12. Albany Business Review reports that the owners are investing about $1 million on the new locations, about half of which is the cost to buy 10 TrackMan-brand simulators, six in Clifton Park, four in Malta. Both locations will have garden patios, indoor/outdoor bar areas with roll-up garage doors.

The summer of 2020 saw a huge boost in the golf business. It seems people wanted to get outside and socialize. What better way to do that than golf! Golf is one of the few things that has carried on professionally and recreationally!

According to the National Golf Foundation, in 2020 we saw:

• A huge jump in rounds
• 6 million new and returning on-course golfers
• An 8% increase in total golf participation

Here are the numbers the represent the people that made the biggest impact on the game in 2020:

• Youth (+ 630,000)
• Beginners (+ 570,000)
• Women (+ 450,000)
