Things turned deadly on Tuesday night in what normally is thought of as a quiet, peaceful part of town.  At approximately 9 PM last night, Bethlehem Police responded to reports of multiple shots fired inside Henry Hudson Park in Selkirk.  As of this morning, we have learned that at least two people were injured in the shooting and one has died from those injuries.

Bethlehem Town Supervisor David VanLuven wrote on his Facebook page last nite:

"Earlier tonight, a shooting took place at Henry Hudson Park in Selkirk. This terrible act of gun violence has no place in our community. Our Bethlehem police are investigating with cooperation from the Albany County Sheriff, Albany Police Department, and State Police to ensure the area is secure and that those responsible are held accountable."

A bit more information became available this morning as News 10 ABC is reporting that the outbreak of gun violence happened during a "gathering" inside Henry Hudson Park,  a peaceful park in Bethlehem that features a boat launch for kayaks, picnic areas with grills, softball field, playground, and fishing area among other things.

As of this morning, police have been unable to locate a suspect.

According to a Facebook post from a freelance photographer who covers fire scenes and other events for Saratoga County, the timeline of events shows that there was a third person injured during the shooting.
