Very sad news for the Guilderland community

The Lyrics "It took me 16 hours to get to L.A. Gonna write me up a 125 Post my face wanted dead or alive Take my license, all that jive I can't drive 55!"  Sammy Hagar claims that he was traveling through Albany when he got the speeding ticket that inspired his '80s hit "I Can't Drive 55!"

Thank goodness no one was injured when a lift truck on a tow truck slammed into the Sitterly Road overpass above the Northway between Exit 9 and Exit 8a on April 14th. But it did major damage to the Sitterly Road Bridge. The Department of Transportation has been working hard to get that overpass open and even though it's just a temporary fix, it will alleviate some of the traffic congestion in that area.

If you have traveled the Northway at all in the past few months, you know that the construction is a nuisance. But you may have also noticed that they have made significant progress. Officials say they are ahead of schedule.
