One of the newest Stewart's Shops opened in Malta on Route 9 in Mechanicville. The old location was near the roundabouts but the place was small and not very convenient. This location is huge with a Sunoco gas station, plenty of seating inside, and food-to-go options including meatballs, macaroni and cheese, pizza, and more!

The Saratoga County original is among the first in the state to be recognized in this way.

When you are enjoying delicious Stewart's ice cream, you don't really think about its history. Well, I don't. I only think about the most difficult decision. What amazing flavor am I going to get a pint of and eat in one sitting? But there is a backstory and it's quite the history lesson of how Stewart's became a staple in the Capital Region and beyond.

My favorite plastic bags have to be the sturdy ones that we get from Stewart's Shops. It was announced recently that they will be complying with the plastic bag ban and doing away with theirs too.
