This weekend it will feel more like we are heading into Easter, not Christmas.

Typically if we were looking at a day of precipitation this time of year, we would be prepping for a big snowstorm. We will get the precipitation this Saturday, but some near-record high temperatures will put a little bit of a damper on the holiday spirit and bring us rain instead of snow.

Could Albany Hit A Record High This Saturday?

The Weather Channel is calling for rain this Saturday with afternoon showers and a high of 60. While we probably will not set a daily record for the high-temperature Saturday, it will be close. The National Weather Service says the current record high for December 11th is 61 degrees, set back in 1952. T

Things will remain relatively mild for the following days as well with Sun and a high of 44 on Sunday and partly cloudy skies with a high of 50 on Monday. Our typical highs this time of year are usually around the high 30's or 40 degrees, according to National Weather Service averages.

So if you were looking for a little winter weather in the holiday spirit this weekend, you will need to take a raincheck - literally. The good news is we still have 2 full weeks for the weather to turn to what we expect this time of year and hopefully bring us the snow we so desperately crave for the Christmas holiday. Then we can go back to complaining about the snow in January!
